Ethical Veg

by Liz Bygrave
If you worry about the environmental costs of your food purchases when you make that mad weekly dash to the supermarket, but you just don’t have the time of the knowledge to sort out the good from the bad, consider ordering your fruit and vegetables from Riverford Organic box scheme instead.  This co-operative of farms in South Devon not only grows most of the produce it sells, but has made some very considered ethical decisions about recycling and about the fruit and vegetables they do import.  For instance, nothing is air freighted and their boxes are used up to ten times and then recycled rather than thrown away.

Despite this, they don’t compromise on customer service and have a variety of boxes (starting from £7.50) to suit all tastes - I know because I have very specific requirements and still found a box to suit me.  Plus there are all sorts of extras you can order as well.

So all you have to do is sit back, order your box and enjoy the contents with a guilt-free conscience!
