Sugar & Women’s Health

Although it gives a short term energy boost, sugar is not, alas, a comforting remedy for all ills, but a very unhealthy ‘food’ to put in our bodies. It is implicated in many women’s health issues.

PMT, for example, can be greatly aggravated by too much sugar in the diet causing mood swings and energy lows. (Also look at the liver and adrenals which can often be helped by balancing the diet.)

Sugar is also often a factor in cysts Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is a complex health problem, but partly connected with how the body utilises sugar. Key in the treatment of PCOS is reducing sugar in the diet.
