Metamorphic Journeys

Dominique Meeroff, leading Metamorphic Technique practitioner and teacher, describes her experience of the transformational powers of this simple technique.

I was sitting in Victoria Health Food Shop in Muswell Hill, where most Saturday afternoons I give free taster sessions of the Metamorphic Technique, when a handsome well dressed man in his mid 30’s offered himself up for a session.  He clearly wasn’t the type to dabble in alternative therapies, but he was intrigued and enticed by the potential for change described in my leaflet.

Apparently, his heart’s desire was to marry and have a family, but for some years he had been utterly unsuccessful in finding a woman to love.  On Sunday morning he rang up wanting to book another session. ‘What happened?’ I asked, by now used to the amazing variety of things that seem to shift for people, even after just a short session.  He’d been out with friends and apparently had been given two women’s numbers.  He was very happy at this positive step forward and has since gone on to develop a serious relationship with one of these women.

A session of Metamorphic Technique acts as a catalyst to the person’s life force, and what happens next is always and entirely unique and appropriate for that person.  Sometimes something physical heals.  A guitarist who plays in the West End came back to tell me the RSI (repetitive strain injury) in his wrist had disappeared after two years’ of anguish.  Sometimes emotional or behavioural petterns shift.  An example would be the case of someone who considers themselves an outsider and accordingly never includes themselves in things.  As that pattern drops away they could find themselves somehow accepting invitations, participating in conversations, and generally allowing their true nature to express itself in the world.

A session of MT is very relaxing.  the practitioner uses a light touch on the feet, head and hands.  This action loosens the prenatal pattern, which represents our time in the womb, where many core patterns originate.  My own experience of MT was so transformational that I decided to train to teach it.  I felt that anyone could learn this simple technique, and use it to heal their own blocks or those of their families, without the drama and struggle commonly associated with healing old wounds.  During my training we received a daily session, and that proved so powerful, leaving me with an enduring feeling of openness, lightheartedness and purpose, that I decided to create a week-long workshop in Goa, where people could learn MT for themselves and receive that daily session.  As part of the week, we will also dance the different phases of gestation in a beautiful movement meditation to heal the uncompleted stages of development.  If any of these phases are blocked, a person may find themselves still ‘adolescent’ at 70 instead of having properly matured into the wise man or woman we would naturally become had we untangled old blocks.  Metamorphic Technique is a tool for personal development and transformation which anyone can learn or receive.  Healing can happen in a gentle and nurturing fashion.  For those of you on the path, I would encourage you to put your best foot forward.

Dominique Meeroff practises in Muswell Hill and at The Haelan Centre in Crouch End,  She teaches weekend workshops in London and runs Metamorphic Journeys in Goa, India.
