Hemp Seed Hummus

This is our current favourite dip.  One tablespoon of sesame seeds contains eight times as much calcium as a cup of cow’s milk, so it’s great for growing children, and the hemp seeds ensure they get a good dose of those essential fatty acids.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sesame seeds, ground
  • 1/2 cup hemp seeds, ground
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp tamari
  • 1/2 - 1 cup water

Blend all ingredients in a high powered blender, or coffee mill, to make a creamy paste.

Makes one large jar.
