Dulse Crackers

by Kate Wood of Raw Living

Can’t get them to eat their seaweed?  These crackers are as delicious as they are nutritious.  Dulse contains fifteen times more calcium, weight for weight, than cow’s milk!

You will need a dehydrator for this recipe, or set your oven at its lowest setting, and leave the door slightly open.

Ingredients

  • 125g/4 oz/1 cup oat groats, soaked overnight
  • 30g/1 oz/1 cup dulse, rinsed
  • 1 small onion, roughly chopped
  • 1 tsp miso
  • 250 mls/8 fl oz/ 1 cup water

Put everything in the blender, and puree until you have a thick batter.  On dehydrator sheets, spread the batter into thin cracker shapes around 8-10cm (3-4″) in diameter, and dehydrate for about 12 hours.

Makes about 25 crackers.
