Psychosynthesis Counselling & Psychotherapy

by Rachella Michaels
In today’s world the pressures and choices that we all face can sometimes feel overwhelming, and the events that impact on us stretch us to our limits. At such times it can be helpful to find an unbiased listener who can provide support and guidance, and help us to find our way.

Ethical Veg

by Liz Bygrave
If you worry about the environmental costs of your food purchases when you make that mad weekly dash to the supermarket, but you just don’t have the time of the knowledge to sort out the good from the bad, consider ordering your fruit and vegetables from Riverford Organic box scheme instead.

Cranio-Sacral for Babies

by Richard Kramer, Crouch End based craniosacral therapist
Is your baby restless, having problems with sucking, or experiencing sleeping difficulties?  There may also be signs of colic, especially in the early evening.  The good news is that cranio-sacral therapy can help.

Chocolate Mousse Cake

by Liz Bygrave of Sweet Sensations
Here’s one for Christmas - a much healthier variation on all the processed, sugar-laden chocolates and desserts we over indulge in over the festive season. Don’t be put off by the avocado, it makes a beautifully smooth, velvety mousse you just can’t beat. And it won’t taste of avocado as long as you don’t use the large size fruit. I use raw, unprocessed chocolate in this dessert - among other things it’s much higher in nutrients than normal processed chocolate (see my article Chocolate As Superfood on this site). However, you can use sugar-free cocoa powder instead.

Can’t get them to eat their seaweed?  These crackers are as delicious as they are nutritious.  Dulse contains fifteen times more calcium, weight for weight, than cow’s milk!

Hemp Seed Hummus

By Kate Wood of Raw Living in Brighton

This is our current favourite dip.  One tablespoon of sesame seeds contains eight times as much calcium as a cup of cow’s milk, so it’s great for growing children, and the hemp seeds ensure they get a good dose of those essential fatty acids.

Cacaomole

by Kate Wood of Raw Living in Brighton

This is my favourite lunch right now.  Spread on a nori sheet and rammed with alfalfa sprouts, you couldn’t fit any more nutrition into each bite.

Why Eat Raw?

by Kate Wood of Raw Living and Raw Magic in Brighton.

Raw foods have a long and venerable history, dating right back to Biblical times.  In The Essene Gospel of Peace, a reputedly overlooked book of the Bible, Jesus advocates eating raw foods.
