How To Advertise

On the Website
It costs just £8 per year to have a listing on the website. It can be as long as you want (within reason!) but please look at other listings in the section you want to advertise in to get an idea of the format.

Then email me the exact copy of your listing (info@goodhealthguide.org.uk), and send a cheque for £8.00, made payable to The Good Health Guide, to The Good Health Guide, 1 The Tyes, Barnard Hill, London N10 2HB.

Multiple Listings: If you wish to submit more than one listing to the website (for instance if you practise more than one therapy) then each listing costs just £5 per year. There is no limit to the number of listings you can have on the site.

One-Off Events: These cost £5 per listing.

Changes To Your Ad: You may find that over the course of the year you want to make changes to your listing. This is fine but you will be charged an admin fee of £4.00 every time you submit one or more changes - so basically, try to submit all your changes in one go as this will be cheaper for you.

Therapists: It is assumed that you are appropriately qualified and insured in whatever therapy you are advertising. Please do not advertise on the website unless this is the case (or at least specify clearly if you are unqualified or a student etc).

Submitting articles, health tips and recipes to the website
This is completely free and anyone is welcome to submit an article, recipe or health tip, providing it is reasonably literate and at the discretion of The Good Health Guide. If you have a listing on the site, your contact details will be given at the end of the piece, and the fact that you have a listing will be clearly indicated. For more information, or to submit your contribution, please use the above email address.

Dulse Crackers

by Kate Wood of Raw Living

Can’t get them to eat their seaweed?  These crackers are as delicious as they are nutritious.  Dulse contains fifteen times more calcium, weight for weight, than cow’s milk!

Hemp Seed Hummus

By Kate Wood of Raw Living in Brighton

This is our current favourite dip.  One tablespoon of sesame seeds contains eight times as much calcium as a cup of cow’s milk, so it’s great for growing children, and the hemp seeds ensure they get a good dose of those essential fatty acids.

Cacaomole

by Kate Wood of Raw Living in Brighton

This is my favourite lunch right now.  Spread on a nori sheet and rammed with alfalfa sprouts, you couldn’t fit any more nutrition into each bite.

Why Eat Raw?

by Kate Wood of Raw Living and Raw Magic in Brighton.

Raw foods have a long and venerable history, dating right back to Biblical times.  In The Essene Gospel of Peace, a reputedly overlooked book of the Bible, Jesus advocates eating raw foods.

Cooking with the Seasons

by organic caterer Sonya Meagor

When I cook for family and friends I always check where my produce comes from, and avoid completely anything that has been intensively farmed, or has been flown halfway across the world to get to me.  This philosophy is exactly the same when I source my produce for a client of Eco-Cuisine.  Coming originally from Cornwall, I still retain strong links to the county and source most of my meat and fish from there - the meat coming from a National Trust farm near Fowey and the fish coming mostly from Newlyn or St Mawes.

Exercise, Back Pain & Osteopathy

By Jessica Ovett BSc (Hons) Ost. Med., osteopath based at Muswell Healing Arts in N10 and The Hillside Practice in NW5.

Back pain sufferers are often advised to exercise and keep moving.  But how do you know what is the most suitable form of exercise for your particular problem?  Should you jog, swim or do Pilates?  Are certain stretches useful, relevant or likely to cause more pain?

Chocolate As Superfood?

By Liz Bygrave of Healthy Sweet Treats
Ordinary chocolate has its share of antioxidants but can hardly be classed as a super food. However, raw chocolate, also known as ‘cacao’, is one of the most antioxidant rich foods on the planet, providing almost four times as many antioxidants as normal chocolate. And it tastes just as good!
